Ubuntu Hoary

Ubuntu's latest version (Hoary 5.04) got released last week. I have been using Ubuntu Development version Since I got Broadband, thats almost couple of months. Somehow, I feel Ubuntu is the way to go for any Gnome enthusiast. For all this time I have just been using Ubuntu & totally stopped using Slack.

The best thing as of now in Hoary is that it activates my PPPOE connection at startup, so I need not worry about manually connecting to internet. I dunno if this feature was there previously, as I did not have Broadband when I first installed Hoary's development version. The only thing i miss in Ubuntu are packages for Mono 1.1.X. In slack I would happily compile everything, but I wanna use the package manager to install stuff in ubuntu. But getting Mono packages for ubuntu seems to be a real headache. Maybe I'll just install it by hand.

Another cool feature is the Update Manager, which happily checks for updates & lets u know when there are some. For me this is the LINUX DESKTOP, how about you ?
